Short Films

Independent filmmakers, amateur film students, professional and amateur films outfits create short films with varied subject matters. Most short films are screened at national, international and local film festivals, some in the hope of gaining funding for bigger projects; some to get their message across for a topic/subject matter they believe in; while some are done for non-profit purposes. Almost all short films that have been done are low budget films, or funded through a sponsor or a grant. Sometimes, the filmmaker uses out-of-pocket funding. Short films rely heavily on subtitles when they are screened internationally or shown in art houses in different countries.
